Immunology

Ricardo Pujol Borrell

Introduction

The medical immunology group aims at improving the laboratory diagnosis and understanding of immune mediated disease, focusing both in primary immunodeficiencies and on those conditions resulting from the lack of tolerance: autoimmune diseased, allergy and transplant rejection.
In 2011 the group started a major technological renovation by introducing advance molecular tools for diagnosis and at present it is gaining experience in the application of hight throughput technology and bioinformatics.
The group approaches tolerance failure both at the thymic level in the cases of TSHR and in the periphery by analyzing gene expression profiles in the target organ (thyroid).

Research lines
